this is my sister-in-law, diane, & her new little girl, reagan. one day old.

and this cute little porcelain bassinet was her mom, susie's, from when diane was born in 1978. it's been tucked away all these years for this special moment this past saturday when reagan was born. i created a little succulent memento for them that is so precious & meaningful.

d.i.y. stencil pots

saw a similar idea recently on pinterest and just had to try it!

these containers were fabulously simple to create. just get some terra cotta pots, do a whitewash with some watered down cream or white acrylic paint. then paint on numbers or letters using a stencil and black paint. use a dry brush and some undiluted paint to distress the surface even further. then plant whatever suits your fancy. 

a collection of a several of them really do make a statement. get creative!

this week @ L.A. Mart

i witnessed this gorgeous display being put together the other day. it turned out so impressive! created by a girl with great shoes & an adorable pixie cut...this is so much eye candy! this is one of the showcases for two's company at the L.A. Mart for the California Gift Show going on right now. love it!!

a visual feast, with loose mannequin arms displaying rings & bracelets, vintage sewing machines & patterns & pattern-paper repurposed dresses! this is so very lovely...

upcoming indie street fair!

hello all! we are really excited to be participating in this street fair. we are joining forces with carmen of www.soaptart.com. she will have her deliciously fragrant, all-natural flirty soaps & other fragrant goods for sale.

we are putting together an AMAZING booth, combining all of our vintage treasures, paper-lit night ambiance and lovely, UPcycled succulent creation. we look forward to seeing you july 22nd in hollywood!

succulent wedding favors

we are so happy to have created these succulent favors for Agnes & Chad's rustic vineyard wedding this Saturday. making their paper flags "wave" was so much fun too!  the guests will be delighted with their gift & they'll definitely enjoy them long after your special day.

how to make rad paper flowers

it's a good idea to be creative in any form. just to have fun no matter what. i got up this morning and made an enormous paper flower the size of my face from an old sewing pattern that i was DEFINITELY never going to use. instead, it's been re-used and has make a striking decoration on my friend's wedding gift!

apple & instagram - we love you!

we love our new iphones & instagram photo app! it frames our work in a whole new light & love the aged-photo effects that enhance our look completely. we've been dragging our feet a little about new technology, but now we're very okay with it. we can use our beautifully-designed apple devices to swipe credit cards & take amazing photos with the new instagram camera. what more do you want?

green long beach festival - 6/9/12

an exciting day of local art, music, education & activities

we're really excited to participate in the festival, as working with this group of fellow "greenies" has been amazing. we have a great lineup of live bands, live painting, local art & handmade goods, a fashion show, educational workshops, and (of course) yummy food trucks.

succulessence will have a booth there with lots of fresh, upcycled succulent gardens to choose from. all vessels have been collected in the los angeles area over the past few months & all succulents are grown locally from a small, independent grower.

we invite you to show your support of our local community at this free event & enjoy a beautiful saturday down by the long beach marina.

santa monica festival was so fun! may 19, 2012

we had SO MUCH FUN at the Santa Monica Festival yesterday! aside from eating amazing food from the BunTruck and swaying to the sounds of La Santa Cecilia & Vaud and the Villains all afternoon, we met tons of sweet & lovely Santa Monica folks and had a wonderful time. thank you for making our day so great!
